We are sad to announce that, on August 13, 2025, at the age of 85, Evelyn Reaves of Chicago, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hartrict Horton and Edna Mae Wayne; her aunt Hazel Jones; her former husband Ezell Reaves; her son Eric Reaves; her siblings, Mary Reynolds, Linda Gipson, Betty Hudson, Frederick Horton, Louise Lee and Leathell "Ted" Horton; and her close friend Zellaner Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Evette N. Colston and Edmund H. Reaves (Trina); her grandchildren, Tiffany N. Colston, Amber N. Reaves, Aaron M. Reaves (Renee), Anthony G. Reaves and Raymond A. Brents (Morgan); her great grandchildren, Naomi E. Reaves, Melodie S. Reaves, Isaiah L. Reaves, Jeremiah M. Reaves, Laila A. Reaves, Kameron X. Reaves and Ezra A. Brents; and her brother Starling Horton.
