Florence V Mayfield Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Florence V Mayfield (Chicago, Illinois), born in Tupelo, Mississippi, who passed away on August 16, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Florence passed in peace on August 16, 2022 at the age of 79. Preceded in death by her husband, Wilson.
Florence was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She dedicated many years of her life to helping people in need, raising children and grandchildren, and worshipping the lord. In her younger years, Florence enjoyed sewing. She owned many sewing machines, and even started her own business sewing personalized ties called “TIE ONE ON”.
Florence also worked as a Factory Worker at Ford Motor Company in Lansing, Illinois, retiring after 12 years.
Florence had 4 children during her union with her late husband Wilson. She is preceded in death by her 2 daughters Sherry Bradshaw (deceased), and Sonya Williams (deceased) She is survived by 2 loving sons, Jeffrey Mayfield (Victoria) and Todd Mayfield. 9 grandchildren, Dantis Mayfield, Emmitt Williams (Magdalena), Matthew Hart (Lindsey), Shatara Hart, Justin Williams, Nia Mayfield, Michaela Mayfield, Caleb Mayfield, and Christiana Mayfield. As well as a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Florence will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by family and friends as a loving mother, business owner, and worshiper of the lord.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 27th 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the 649 W 113th St (649 West 113th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60628).
