It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gertrude Dunlap (Chicago, Illinois), born in Friars Point, Mississippi, who passed away on May 4, 2026, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Anderson and Flora Lee Anderson; and her siblings, Flora Wilson (Thurman) and Harvey Anderson. She is survived by: her daughters, Deneen Anderson, Sonja Dunlap and Dawne Blakemore (Demoyne); her siblings, Ruth Mayes and Henry Anderson; her grandchildren, Kieva, Kiana, Teasha, Faith, Terry and Arielle; and her great grandchildren, Kailani, Kaysen and Karis.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Brian P. Pickett Funeral Home (5301 W Madison St, Chicago, IL 60644). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Home of Life MB Church (4650 W Madison St, Chicago, IL 60644).
