He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Thompson; his children, James Cockrell Jr. (Lisa) of Springfield and Sheree Dunn of Lincoln; his granddaughter Taylor Simone Cockrell of Springfield; his niece Susie Gladney-Bellamy of Memphis; and his great-niece Anita Jones-Springfield of Memphis. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
