John Hunter Obituary
It is with sadness that the passing of John Hunter (Chicago, Illinois) is shared. John, born on December 14, 1936, passed away on October 2, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Bond Corey and Judge Robert Lee Hunter; and his former wife Melinda Myer Hunter. He is survived by: his son John Emerson Hunter (Leticia Hunter); his siblings, Dr. Robert L. Hunter (Rebecca Ericsson), Elizabeth Jacks Scott (late Robert L. Jacks) and Margaret Hunter Palmer (Henry Palmer); his nieces and nephews, Robert Hunter III, David Ericsson Hunter, Alice Hunter Dinisco, Robert Leroy Jacks, Elizabeth Bond Corey Hunter, Charles H. Eldredge III, Corey Elisabeth Palmer and Emily Claire Palmer; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ainslie, Charles H. Eldredge IV, Daren, Kristen Jacks, Ellie, Clarissa Dow, Christopher and Matthew Hunter.
The military honors will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 1:15 PM at the Riverside National Cemetery (22495 Van Buren Boulevard, March Air Reserve Base, CA 92518). A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 14th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the North Park Covenant Church (5250 N Christiana Ave, Chicago, IL 60625).
