He is survived by: his spouse Rosaura; his son Michael; his grandsons, Robert Anthony and George Michael Rodriguez; and his siblings, Luis, Mary and Frank. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“Joe and I were members of the American Legion Central Park Post 1028. Meetings are held, every second Friday of the month, at Rudy and Annes' bar, 5790 S. Archer Ave. The medallions that we are wearing are for members that are 80 years and older. Joe and I represented the post in several events held throughout the area. We will miss Joe at those events.”

“Mr. Fantastic has gone to Heaven. My late wife and I knew Joe since our two parishes, St. Agnes and St. Joseph & St. Anne merged in 1991 to form Our Lady of Fatima Parish. We participated in the church groups and he and I were ushers and members of the Holy Name Society. We always went to the Holy name dances and then to the parish dances. Joe and I participated in the CAHNS's annual mass. (Chicago Association of Holy Name Societies). Joe will be greatly missed.”
