Perez Sr.; her parents, Juan Ortega and Ofresina Ortega; her siblings, Beatrice Gonzalez (late Ysidro), Elenora Ortega, Mary "Taya" Guerra (late Julian), Leonard Ortega (Annabelle), Euphemia "Vigie" Fabian (late Joseph), Ramona Medina (late Faustino), Maria "Mia" Ortega, Candelaria "Cande" Maldonado and Joan Aguilar (late Miguel); and her daughter Maria Julia.
She is survived by: her brother Antonio; her children, Esther, Juanita, Carlos, Teresa and Humberto Jr.; her grandchildren, Gustavo, Angelica, Consuelo, Salem, Felicia, Kimberly, Ashley, Nicole, Julian, Carina and Sarah; her great grandchildren, Reina, Micaela, Micah, Janessa, Liliana, Zarina, Zaragoza, Carlos, Genesis, Christopher, Avery, Violet and Zayn; and her caregivers, Chiva, Monica and Nina. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 10th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 11th 2026 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Michael Coletta & Sons Funeral Home (544 W 31st St, Chicago, IL 60616). A prayer was held on Wednesday, February 11th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, February 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Jerome Croatian Catholic Church (2823 S Princeton Ave, Chicago, IL 60616). A burial was held on Wednesday, February 11th 2026 at the Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery (1400 S Wolf Rd, Hillside, IL 60162).
