She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Pasquale "Patsy" Salerno; her parent Catherine Gurgone (late James); her brothers, Michael Gurgone (Rose) and James Gurgone Jr.; her sisters-in-law, Roseann Gurgone and Frances Fratto (Tony); her children, Nicholas, Maryann Distasio (Jim), Jennie O'Connell (Jack) and Dominic; her grandchildren, Michael O'Connell (Carly), Jimmy Distasio (Kathy), Megan Larouere (Jim), Nick Distasio (Alison) and Catherine Lester (Adam); her great grandchildren, Jack, Shane, Joe, Tony, Nico, Kaitlyn, Lena, Dylan, Will, Emma, Dominic and Lucy; and her parent Teresa (Alexander St) of Calcutta Parish.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 19th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Michael Coletta & Sons Funeral Home (544 W 31st St, Chicago, IL 60616). A prayer was held on Friday, March 20th 2026 at 9:15 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, March 20th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Therese Chinese Catholic Church (218 W Alexander St, Chicago, IL 60616). A burial was held on Friday, March 20th 2026 at the St. Mary Cemetery W 87th.
