She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Dempsey and George Dempsey. She is survived by: her husband Kevin Hitzeman; her stepchildren, Erin, Shannon (Brian Kraft), Caitlin (Ruben Dominguez), Kendall (Justin Burkhardt) and Burkhardt; her grandchildren, Kennedy, Madeline and Genevieve; her goddaughters, Marissa Fuoco and Caitlin Clark; and her siblings, John, Joe, Paula, William, Patrick and Madhuri.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Capuchin Franciscans Catholic religious order, whose friar, Fr. Simeon Gallagher, has served as the Dempsey family's lifelong spiritual advisor, and who will be presiding at Mary's funeral mass and celebration of her life. https://www.capuchins.org.
