He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ramona Alva Flores; his children, Aurora Fuentes (late Ernesto), Lilia Gudino (Jose), Irma Ayala (John), Angela Alva, Diana Schildt (Henri), Michael Alva (Dahlia) and Mario "David" Alva; and his grandchildren, Daniel Fuentes, Ernesto Fuentes, Mary Fuentes, Yolanda Fuentes, Christopher Fuentes, Melissa Gudino, Michael Gudino, Jaclyn Gudino, John Ayala, Jr. and Michael Alva III.
