It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mildred H. Montgomery of Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on February 18, 2026, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Mildred had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Mildred may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mata Mueller and William Mueller; her husband James V. Montgomery; and her brother Willam Mueller of Cary, IL.. She is survived by: her children, James, Judie Fezekas (Vic) of Huntley, IL and John Montgomery (Donna) of Madison, WI; and her grandchildren, Rob Fezekas (Sonja West) of Athens, GA, Karen Floriano (Don Schmitter) of Tonawanda, NY, Kristin Montgomery of Fitchburg, WI and Matt Montgomery (Emily) of Eagan, MN. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
