He was predeceased by: his siblings, Maria Barounis, George and John Georgakilas. He is survived by: his sisters, Antigoni Moutsoulos and Evyenia Koromila (George); his children, Helen Trage (Ed) of Grayslake and Nick Georgakilas (Kelly) of Chicago; his grandchildren, Natalie Perez-Georgakilas (Jose) of Algonquin, Elena and Peter Trage; and his great grandchildren, Jayden, Noah and Jonathan Perez-Georgakilas. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Panagiotis' name can be made to the HealthWell Foundation which helps the underinsured afford critical medical treatments.
