He is survived by: his wife Elisabeth Hegel; his sons, Peter (Aphrodite) and Ron Hegel (Kim); his grandchildren, Alexandra Zigrossi, Peter Hegel (Tyne), Marissa Hegel, Jessica Hegel, Amanda Hegel and Ryan Hegel; and his great grandchildren, Zelda Zigrossi and Cambria Zigrossi.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Tabor Lutheran Church (3542 W Sunnyside Ave, Chicago, IL 60625). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
