He was predeceased by : his daughter Kathryn Louise; his parents, Arthur and Augusta; and his brothers, Arthur, Ralph and Lawrence.

He is survived by : his wife Margaret Ann; his children, Debbie Magnuson (Don), Michael (Susan Kukis), Michele Cihak (Dennis), Lynn Casale (John), Mary Lee Antonucci (Michael), Laura Thorsen (Jon), Karen Snow (Tim) and Dawn Oda (Dan); and his sibling Marion Hilgers. He is also survived by met the love of his life in 1950 through a mutual friend.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home (6150 N Cicero Ave, Chicago, IL 60646). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Queen of All Saints Basilica (6280 N Sauganash Ave, Chicago, IL 60646). A graveside service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Maryhill Cemetery (8600 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714).
