He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville and Martha; his son Reed Schmaedeke; and his sister Barbara Sheldon (late David). He is survived by: his wife Janeen; his children, Randy Schmaedeke and Rhonda Waneka (Tyson); his stepchildren, Patrick Barnes (Jennifer Talbot) and Kara Westphal (William); his grandchildren, Madison Conkin (John), Caroline Reed, Mia, Keely Collins and Jace Waneka; his stepgrandchildren, Colette, Finnley Barnes, Grace, Maggie and Aidan Mintle; his great grandchild Remi Conkin; and his siblings-in-law, Jack Wall, Jim Wall and Mary Kay Wall.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Old St. Patrick's Catholic Church (700 W Adams St, Chicago, IL 60661). A Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
