She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Richard J. Kafka; her brother Len Siwek (Donna); and her parents, Leo Siwek and Mary Rose Siwek. She is survived by: her children, Mary Beth Kroll (Ed), Christine Vicere (Christopher), Robert Kafka (Holly) and Rich Kafka (Lisa); her grandchildren, Andrea Fagenholz (Charlie), Ashley Vicere (Andrew), Melissa Kroll (Sam), Anthony Vicere (Cyntia), Travis Vicere (Jackie), Laura Joyce (Shea), Ryan Kafka and Danielle Kafka; and her sibling Sandy Strzechowski (late Larry).
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home (6150 N Cicero Ave, Chicago, IL 60646). A Mass will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Queen of All Saints Basilica (6280 N Sauganash Ave, Chicago, IL 60646). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:45 AM at the Maryhill Cemetery (8600 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714).
