It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sofija Balaban (Chicago, Illinois), who passed away on November 25, 2014, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Sofija departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Sofija may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Sofija leaves behind.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her child Vitomir Balaban (Zorica); her grandchildren, Bojan and Stefan; her brother Danilo Janjic (Janja); and her sibling's children, Miso and Danijela. She was also cherished by numerous other family members and friends.
