It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas R. Maciel of Chicago, Illinois, born in San Benito, Texas, who passed away on January 22, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Macedonio Maciel Sr. and Jesusa Salazar; his wife Amparito "Annie" Maciel; his grandson Thomas R. Maciel III; and his brothers, Maurice "Bubba" Maciel, Vicente Rodriguez, Guadalupe Vittonet, Juan Rodriguez, Porfirio Rodriguez, Antonio Rodriguez, Cosme Rodriguez and Macedonio.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas R. Maciel II (Patricia) of Seattle, WA, Maria Maciel of Grandview, WA, Beatrice Perales, Sandra Moreno (Gerardo) of Grandview, WA, Maricella Maciel, Melinda Maciel and Roxanne Davis (Lorenzo) of University Park, IL.; and his sisters, Manuela "Dorothy" Sanchez, Maria Angelita Garcia, Marcelita Juarez, Eugenia Flores and Alice "Honda" Nunez. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
