He was predeceased by: his parents, Olga and Matt. He is survived by: his wife Mary Frances "Franny" Schroeder; his sister E. Ann Tomasic; and his children, Paul (Jennifer Hausheer), Donna Leding, John, Nancy Marino (Christopher), Therese Marie Ormond (Patrick) and Steven (Kate). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
The lying in state will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (7211 W Talcott Ave, Chicago, IL 60631). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church (7211 W Talcott Ave, Chicago, IL 60631). A burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at the Maryhill Catholic Cemetery (8600 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities USA or to the National Immigration Law Center.
