She was predeceased by: her parents, Thaddeus Kochan and Sophia Kochan (Pajdo); her husband Benjamin Franklin Mills, Jr.; her son William "Bill"; and her siblings, Thaddeus "Tadziu" Kochan, Zenona H. "Zenia" (Chester Zachara) and Frederick J. (Arlene Kochan).

She is survived by: her children, Lynn Mills (Wallace), Christopher, Cheryl Mills (Fox), Nadine Grudzien (Mills), Michael Mills, Kenneth and Jeanne Mills (Kenning); and her siblings, Lawrence A. "Larry" (Arleen Kochan) and Rita Kopf (Kochan). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Due to restrictions related to Covid-19 a memorial mass service will be scheduled at a later date.

“My dear sister and friend -- how I am going to miss our daily conversations. My days are going to be empty without your phone call. You certainly showed your care and thoughtful concern at all times. I remember all of our outings, all the weekend visits to the water parks/pools, our Sunday treks to church and afterwards getting something to eat. Most memorable are our visits together to Arizona and to Oregon for Adam's wedding. How much fun we had. RIP dear Shirley, you are finally pain-free.”
