Zofia Barnas Kosiba Obituary
Zofia Barnas Kosiba, age 88, formerly of Harvey IL, passed away on September 19th 2023. Zofia was born on December 1st 1934 in Poland.
She and her late husband Alojzy Kosiba moved to America where they started their new life in Chicago IL, followed by Harvey IL. Zofia was a devoted catholic where she was very involved with the catholic church community. Her strong devotion and beliefs in god were passed down to her five children which she dedicated her whole life to. Zofia made sure her Polish heritage and traditions were always being passed down to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
For many years she was the Pierogi queen and was asked by many businesses and people to make her famous perogies. To this day people still talk about her delicious perogies. Once her children became adults, Zofia always enjoyed helping and taking care of people. She decided to become a caregiver for many families over the years.
One of her biggest passions throughout her life was gardening. She had a magic green thumb. She could plant anything and it would thrive. Her love for gardening was passed down to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her favorite season was spring where she could start gardening and planting many flowers and watch them grow. Zofia lived a full life and will always be remembered and missed by her family and friends.

Cherished Grandma of Maksymilian, David, Claudia, Tadeusz, Adam, Justyna, Bartholomew, Nicolette, Loreen, Italia, Carmen, Micheal, Emma, Jonathon. Dearest great grandma of Chad, Savannah, Hannah, Connor, Maxymilian, Maverick. Loving sister of Tadeusz Barnas, Maria Kozielec. Loving aunt of Barnas and Kozielec Family.
