He was predeceased by: his parents, David Edward and Demealia Francine Mason (Branam); his wife Marjorie Mason (Keller); his son Benjamin Keith Mason; and his siblings, Lynn Edward Mason, Albert Eugene Mason and Linda Joan Baum.
He is survived by: the mother of his children Ann Mason of Tamaroa; his children, Troy Mason (Margie) of Springfield, IL and Melanie Melton (Ray) of Christopher; his grandchildren, Josh Melton (Whitney), Courtney McGinnis (Brandon), Alicia Eisenhaur (Joey), Jordan Montgomery (Jared), Dane Mason (Flo) and Alaina Marlow (Jason); and his siblings, Caroline Clark (James) of Chillicothe, IL and Gary Mason of Christopher. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Gilbert Funeral Home (209 N Emma St, Christopher, IL 62822). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Oak Ridge Cemetery (1441 Monument Ave, Springfield, IL 62702).
