She was predeceased by: her father Charles Kays; and her close friend Harold Tennison. She is survived by: her mother Imo June Kays (Hayes); her children, Brittany Carter (Jason Palmer) of Sesser, IL and Bryan Carter (Melissa) of Cibolo, TX; her grandchildren, Austyn Palmer and Ainsley Palmer; and her siblings, Mark Kays (Debby), Matthews Kays, Guy Kays, Becky Wendling and Gwen Long (Phillip). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Pate Funeral Home & Crematory (301 S Main St, Benton, IL 62812).
