David Herdes Sr. Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David Herdes Sr. of Clay City, Illinois, who passed away on April 4, 2026 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Monroe and Lelia Mae Herdes (Mitchel); his wife Peggy J. Gardner; and his sisters, Donna Herdes and Dionne Herdes Creamer.
He is survived by: his children, Karita Dawn Herdes Stevens (Brad) of Puckett, Mississippi and David Earl; his grandsons, Tyler Stevens, Dillon Stevens, Lucas Stevens and Austin David Newman; and his sister Darlene Herdes Pierson of Flora, Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials are preferred to Sailor Springs Christian Church, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
