It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gilbert Dean Hale of Clay City, Illinois, who passed away on April 5, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Gilbert E. Hale and Eleanor Hale (Shipman); his wife Phyllis Caldwell; his sisters, Judy Burt and Barbara Lister; his stepgrandfather Aden Mosley; his nephews, Johnny Ray Murbarger and Jim Devlin; his niece Melody Caldwell; his great-niece Kensey Pond; and also Kash Barnfield.

He is survived by : his son Joey Hale (Kristin) of Clay City, IL.; his grandchildren, Nichole and Jesse; and his siblings, June Kuenstler of Olney, IL, Betty Devlin of Manhattan, KS and Donny Hale (Susie) of Nashville, TN..

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
