It is with great sadness that we announce the death of LaVerne Opal Beard of Clifton, Illinois, born in Defiance, Ohio, who passed away on September 15, 2022, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Peter and Beatrice Peter (Miller); her husband James Beard; her son David Beard; and her brothers, Willard Peter, Kermit Peter and DeWayne Peter.

She is survived by: her daughter Janna; her son-in-law Steve Beaulieu of Bourbonnais; her grandchildren, Jason Beaulieu of Bourbonnais, Andy Beaulieu (Tara) of Bourbonnais, Joe Beaulieu (Erin), Jared Beard (Stephanie) of Bourbonnais, Katherine Beard of Bourbonnais, Uzziel Ceja of Clifton, Jasmine Ceja, Defni Ceja and Brisa Ceja; and her daughter-in-law Esther Beard. She is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren.
