Mark Montgomery Fehrlen Obituary

Mark Montgomery Fehrlen, 61, of Clinton, IL, passed away from metastatic brain cancer at 2:20 P.M. on Wednesday (05-14-2025) in his home surrounded by his family.

Mark was born on June 23, 1963, in Yreka, CA, the son of John William Fehrlen and Lucille Edith Welborn. He married Patricia "Patty" Marie Jotzke on February 3, 2001, in Boyne City, MI. She preceded him in death on October 26, 2016.

Mark had worked as an HVAC Technician and as a cook at Cracker Barrel. He most recently worked doing maintenance at Hawthorne Inn in Mt. Zion, IL, and at Comfort Inn in Decatur, IL. He loved to ride his bike and was a member of the Eagles in Clinton, IL. He also enjoyed going fishing, bowling, and golfing. Mark used his smoker quite a bit and was definitely a "Grill Master". He liked to drink beer and Fireball whiskey. Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, was his favorite pastime.

He is survived by his children: Brittany Brewer and husband Zachary of Decatur, IL; Christopher Christensen of Goshen, CA; Jonathan Catron of Clinton, IL; Marion Fehrlen and husband Nelson Baez of Clinton, IL; Markie Fehrlen and husband Cristobal Casarez of Clinton, IL; Rebecca Fehrlen and husband Rick Maddox of Charleston, WV; and Troy Schmidt of Houghton Lake, MI; fifteen grandchildren; one brother John Fehrlen and wife Mandy of East Jordan, MI; one sister Colleen Fehrlen of Happy Camp, CA; and his girlfriend Dorothy Cockrell of DeWitt, IL.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, wife "Patty", and one sister Roxane Evans.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 7:00 P.M. until the last person goes home on Saturday (May 31, 2025) at the Eagles Lodge, Clinton, IL.
