It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen Payne of Coal City, Illinois, born in Joliet, Illinois, who passed away on February 2, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Dominic J. Vacca and Agnes A. Vacca. She is survived by : her husband Melvin B. Payne; her daughter Ellen McMaster (Timothy) of Wilmington; her sister Agnes Flint of Coal City; and her nieces and nephews, Keith Powell (Dulcie) of Diamond, Roger Flint Jr. of Coal City, Stephanie Gill (Terry) of Coal City and Shannon Flint.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
