He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam L. Gervase and Winifred Gervase (Ulbrich). He is survived by: his wife Donna Gervase of Year's Eve; his daughters, Becky Johnson (late Myles) and Betsy Cowherd (late Tommy); his sisters, Wanda Stazak (Vic) and Jane Provance (Steve); his grandchildren, Lane Cowherd (Ilene) and Kyle Cowherd; and his stepgrandchildren, Billy Johnson (Amanda) and Stacy Carlson (Scott). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ferrari Funeral Chapel (1044 Ferrari Dr, Coal City, IL 60416). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Pallbearers will be: Lane Cowherd, Kyle Cowherd, Quentin Marshall, Mike Provance, Rich Lofgren, and David Fiala, Memorials in Sam's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
