She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Pomatto and Eva Pomatto. She is survived by: her husband Terry Burns of Coal City; her children, Lori Burns (Berkey) of Jacksonville, Lisa Burns of Coal City and Steven Burns of Coal City; and her brother Thomas Pomatto of Kenosha, Wisconsin. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Nurses Foundation in her honor.
