She was predeceased by: her parents, Everett Kenneth and Verneil Louise Knowles (Hamann); her daughter-in-law Kara Matzen; her sisters, Dian Duncan, Karen Blackman and June Matzen; and her brothers-in-law, Larry Duncan, Dale Blackman and Bob Jones.

She is survived by: her husband Darrell Matzen of Coal Valley, Illinois; her children, Mike Matzen of Orion, Illinois and Bonnie Matzen of Orion, Illinois; her grandchildren, Kramer Matzen and Tori Hohl (Garrett); her great grandchildren, Gianna, Griffin and Grant Hohl; her sister Marvel VanVooren (Ron); and her in-laws, Ronald Matzen and Janice Jones. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
