He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Phillip Sr. and Virginia Joyce Trexler (Wills); his stepfather Jerry Harrington; his grandparents, Gilbert, Clarice Wills, Ida and Preach Trexler; his siblings, Bobby Coats and Susan Coats; and his aunts and uncles, Harry Wills, Jim Wills, Howell Wills, Johnny Trexler, Ralph Draper, Margie Trexler, Dorothy Trexler-Draper and Evelyn Trexler.

He is survived by: his brothers, Mike Trexler (Jenny) and Mark Trexler; his sister-in-law Vicki Coats; his aunts and uncles, Donna Coats Martin (Jack), Diane Wills, Elaine Wills, Edgar Trexler (Berta) and Ron Wills; and his siblings' children, Mikaela Beth Trexler-Marshall (Jeremy), Tasha Nichole Trexler, Lorie Trexler, David Coats (Megan) and Daniel Coats. He is also survived by many cousins, extended family, and friends.

A celebration of life was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Anna Moose Lodge (327 S Main St, Anna, IL 62906).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude, memorial contributions be made to the Carbondale Warming Center.
