He was predeceased by: his parents, George Fletcher and Margaret Eleanor "Peggy" Cauthen; his daughter Jennifer Kay Cauthen; and his son-in-law William. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen "Kathy" Cauthen; his daughters, Elizabeth "Liz" Ann Oxley and Katherine "Kate" Cauthen Osmond (Tyler); his grandchild Ace Cauthen Osmond; and his brothers, David Green Cauthen (Denise) and Michael Flynn Cauthen (Vickie Lynn).
Charitable donations are suggested in his memory to PlanNet Cares, a foundation that provides essential needs for women and children who are living in shelters, of which he served as a board member, and the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for pulmonary fibrosis through leading research and clinical trials.
