He was predeceased by: his parents, Mathew Welch and Elizabeth Welch (Adams); and his children, Catherine Hunter (Welch), Carrie Stith (Welch) and Thomas Mathew Welch II.
He is survived by: his wife Cindy Welch (Lapicola); his siblings, Lois Metzger (Welch) and Paul Welch; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Laney Hunter, Henley, Blake Stith, Gemma and Isabel Welch.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sunset Hill Funeral, Cemetery & Cremation Services (50 Fountain Dr, Glen Carbon, IL 62034). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bill Metzger Scholarship Fund of the Collinsville Area Community Foundation (https://collinsvilleareacf.fcsuite.com)(https://collinsvillefoundation.com.), an organization co-founded by Tom's late nephew, William Mathew Metzger.
