He was predeceased by : his father Eugene (Nellie); and his brothers, Douglas, Maurice "Don", Steven and Randy.

He is survived by : his wife Mary Massie; his children, Ricky W. Massie, Jr. of Dixon, MO, Deana Massie of Pocahontas, IL, Tammy Canova (Kurt) of Chesterfield, MO and Brandi Caballero (Adrian) of San Antonio; his siblings, Roger Massie (Cathy) of Waterloo, IL, Brenda Kempen of Red Bud, IL, Cynthia Love (John) of Columbia, IL, Roxann Massie of Waterloo, IL and Kathy Brooks (Bunky) of Belleville, IL; his grandchildren, Tony Cobillas (Vanessa), Shayne Bovinette, Shyann Bovinette and Kameren Canova; his sisters, Konner Canova and Claire Caballero; and his great grandchild Juliana Cobillas.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Braun Family Funeral Home (265 Quarry Rd, Columbia, IL 62236). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
