He was predeceased by: his parents, H. A. Smith (Crick) and Nora Cagley Smith; and his son Mike Smith. He is survived by: his children, Mark Smith (Brenda) of Rockford, Mindy Kaufman (Jim) of Creston, IA and Melissa Lewis (Scott) of Bloomington; and his sister Guylan Simpsen of Bloomington. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
