In loving memory of Josephine M. Fortner of Cowden, Illinois, who departed this world on November 29, 2025 at the age of 82. Josephine leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Though Josephine may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Josephine touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold V. "Jim" DeHart and Alleta E. DeHart (Cookson); her husband Donald G. Fortner; and her son Kelly Fortner. She is survived by: her children, Archie Fortner of Emlenton, PA, Cecil Fortner of Herrick and Donna Cherry (Ryan) of Cowden; and her brothers, Cadell "Pete" Abbott (Wanda) of Sullivan and Robert "Bob" DeHart of Scottsville, KY.. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Southern Baptist Church, Sullivan.
