He is survived by: his sons, Matthew Scott Ward and Joshua Thomas Ward; his wife Sally Mappin Ward; his granddaughters, Kasha Ward and Natalia Ward; his sister Pamela Davis; his sister-in-law Judy Ward; his friend Wes Johns; and his pet Rocco.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Light House Shelter located at 1101 North Madison Street, Marion, Illinois.
