She was predeceased by: her husband Richard H. Sorgel; her son Richard "Rick" Sorgel; her parents, Edward Berends and Dorothy Berends; her parents-in-law, Robert and Gertrude Sorgel; and her siblings, Bruce Berends (late Patti) and Dottie Monson (late Jay).
She is survived by: her children, Phillip Sorgel (Renee) of Keller, TX and Christene Wojdyla (John) of Estero, FL; her grandchildren, Jennifer Stroup (Brian), Robert Sorgel (Sonya), Alyssa Janowksi (Ryan), Nicole Sorgel, Kaitlyn Toyota (Tyler) and Zachary Wojdyla; and her great grandchildren, Tatiana, Haylie Sorgel, Caleb, Maddie Stroup and Geneva Toyota.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services (15219 Joliet Rd, Plainfield, IL 60544). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
