He was predeceased by : his parents, Leroy Hartmann and Mildred Hartmann (Lange) of Crete. He is survived by : his significant other Barbara Hoffman of Crete; and his siblings, Mary Jo Johnson (Jerry) of New Ulm, MN, David Hartmann (Dagmar) of Karlsruhe, Germany, John Hartmann (Sharon) of Marana, AZ, James Hartmann (Sharon Sue) of Evanston and Lora Beth Topper (Dr. Steven) of Colorado Springs, CO. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
