He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Bruns and Margaret Bruns. He is survived by: his wife Linda R. Bruns; his sons, Denny Bruns, Steve Bruns (Carrie) and Randy Bruns (Natalie); his grandchildren, Kelsey, Emily, Amanda, Nora and Ben Bruns; his sister Carol Hoger (Dan); and his niece Joanna Battaglia (Tony).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (1393 Elizabeth St, Crete, IL 60417). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421). The inurnment will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
