He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Sigmund and Louise Sigmund (Moser); his wife Carolyn Kraus; and his son Wayne. He is survived by: his children, Dave (Patricia), Larry (Jean Ann), Gregg (Jeanne), Nancy Palmer (Thom) and Laura Birr (Dan); his grandchildren, Mike (Kemery), Mandy Peterson (John), Nick (Angela), Shana Hayes (Matt), Jake, Chris (Sonja), Danny (Shannon), Liz Womble (Jon), Jessica Clancy (Bobby), Brittany Davies (Tobin), Ryan Palmer, Melissa Cole (Josh) and Freddie Birr (Gaby); his great grandchildren, Riley, Benjamin, Josie, Kai, Marley, Eloise, Eileen, Barrett, Myles, Graham, Connor, Charlotte, Georgia, Archer and August; his sibling's children, Keith, Kenneth, Craig Kraus (Yuko) and Karen Rohder (Jim); and his caregiver Hilda Nkhuwa.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Davenport Family Funeral Homes and Crematory (419 E Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Crystal Lake Memorial Park Cemetery (8012 Ridgefield Rd, Crystal Lake, IL 60012).
