He was predeceased by: his parents, Carol Gavle and Reuben Gavle; and his sister Myreen Wedge. He is survived by: his wife Susan Mortenson; his children, David, Katherine (Katie), Dave and Katie (Aaron Zins); his sister Karen Klassen (Dan); and his sister-in-law Laurie Houlihan (Ted). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Bethany Lutheran Church or the Crystal Lake Public Library.
