He was predeceased by: his sister Edith Machamer; and his cousin Bill Pichen. He is survived by: his wife Jan Gilkison of Crystal Lake; his children, Lisa Boyd (Keith) and Ron Schroeder (Jeanne); his granddaughter Emily Schroeder; and his siblings, Ben Schroeder, Merlyn Emricson (Ken), Beverly Schaefer, Jeff Schroeder (Theresa), Sarah Anderson (Jacob), Pat Edmund (George), Aaron Schroeder (Liz), Nora McIntire (Alex) and Adrian Schroeder (Susan). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
