Gene A. Bengston Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gene A. Bengston of Crystal Lake, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 9, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Gene may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gene touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Bengston and Elsie Bengston (Martin); and his wife Helen Mae Bengston (Olson).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Friday, December 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bethany Lutheran Church (76 W Crystal Lake Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
