He is survived by: his wife Carol Louise; his sons, Joseph Higgins (Laura), Michael Higgins (Caryn), Christopher Higgins (Angela) and Sean Higgins; the mother of his children Katherine Higgins; his granddaughters, Brigid, Josie, Ashley and Megan; and his sister Maryann Gilchrist.
