He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Shultz and Mildred Shultz; his wife Betty Berniece Stevens; and his brothers, Ronald Leon Schultz and Gail Woxen Shultz.

He is survived by : his children, Deborah Schmidt (Ray), Thomas Shultz (Gloria) and Robert Shultz (Yoko); his stepchildren, Nancy Carroll (Terry) and Gary Brooks (Susan); and his grandchildren, Ryan Schmidt, Jack Shultz, Lindsey Goll, Jeremy Duckham, Joy Austria, Mekenna Ellis, Ashley Kruchko and Paige Miller.
