He was predeceased by: his parent Bonnie Smith (Whitford); and his grandparents, James and Margaret Whitford of Ahmeek, MI.. He is survived by: his sons, Connor of Phoenix, AZ, Nolan and Grant of Algonquin, IL; and his significant other Karol Gasteyer Giokas of Naperville, IL. He is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either: · The Nature Conservancy where donations in Mark's name will support work on the Keweenaw Peninsula in the UP. Arbor Day Foundation supporting restoration of Michigan state forests.
