He was predeceased by : his parents, John Kinstler and Claire Kinstler; and his sister Gayle Jansen. He is survived by : his wife Sherry; his children, Kristina, Jacob (Lauren), Jordan, Grace Kinstler and Tyler Johnson (Morgan); and his sister Shari Lackey (late Bill). He is also survived by his kids, spending time with his wife in Florida and helping his children.

Shari Kinstler wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Mitch I miss you everyday your laugh smile our crazy fights but always so much loved you always. I don’t know why but apparently Jordan did not invite me to his wedding. I miss the family so much and was so excited to hear about it in November. It’s ok I wish them well. Hope you are watching over all of them and us. James misses you so much as Buck. I see signs of you wherever I go. Keep them coming Love your sister Shari”
