He was predeceased by: his parents, Ysbrand Witzenburg and Helen Van Witzenburg; his wife Jeanette; his brothers, Donald and Carl Van Witzenburg; and his son-in-law Christopher Durcan.

He is survived by: his children, Mary Ann Blendonohy (Peter), Steven Van Witzenburg (Kimberly), Adam Van Witzenburg (Theresa) and Martha Durcan; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Alida, Michael, Alexander, Matthew, Grace, Ryan, Nathan, James, Kathryn and Matilda; and his brother Brian Van Witzenburg (Rosemary).

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
